I as an Orthodox wont apologize for what the God-killers want to do in Palestine or the fanatic uncivilized worshippers of a pedophile Messenger believe.

*Beyond Orville Redenbacher (c)* “Modern Caricatures of Authority” Your entire political and authority system is based on physical traits and fashion tips. Nobody is going to take it seriously anymore. I am through with this moron world! That is IT!!!!! It’s like they stole it right out of “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” Say high to Mr. Hand for me. NK. This doesn’t look good. Look. When writers make a list of traits that define authority in characters it is supposed to appear shallow and have a rational society to clear it up like “Orville Redenbacher” looks like George Orwell. Hilarious. If you wonder why no writers are making caricatures that mean anything it’s because today’s authority is so perverse they won’t touch it. I’ll pass on the Dante’ encoding. Just keep your “Breakfast Club” pants and your 1950s Steelers German. There is no rhetorical strategy that cough cough. Never mind. That shark suit must be made of Mithril. Either that or nobody is getting published on purpose. I’m not tearing down a corrupt system. I’d rather work at immortality until they crucify me and I don’t die from it. The small press got bombed by a nuclear Armageddon. I know. I would have been a graphic designer and was in it when the bomb went off. -Lucifuge “Here’s Johnny!” -Kubrick’s “The Shining”

The problem with religion is it tries to tell science what is scientifically true. The problem with science is that it believes that the sum total of the categories it creates about what is observable, and applies words to, plus what is in each category, once understood, is "all that there is." Reality is messy. Subjective experience can change a life, or the world. The "scientific, analytic, classifying, reductionist, verbal" half of our brains parse reality into bie-sized digestible bits. Once we have swallowed those bits, we conclude that we have now absorbed and have an understanding of the whole which existed before we divided and conquered. Religion is the verbal brain's attempts to put into words the wisdom of the non-verbal, non-dominant hemispheric activity. There truly are no words for what is transcendent, holy, sacred, paradoxical, essential, experiential. When the rational scientific half of the brain examines the religious words, descriptions of religious experience, it finds no connection to what it knows and has learned or discovered. Atheists need to understand-humans inhabit a land between sharp rocks which cut bare feet and an imagination capable of creating flying machines but also mythical lands of dragons and wizards, and even the experiential realm of ghosts, witchcraft, demons, and miracles. And, a "soul or spirit" which can transcend death. We need both to be human. Even Hitchens confessed that, if he could, personally choose to completely eliminate religion from all future humanity, he would not do it. But he could not put his finger on why he wouldn't. Dawkins mocked him for this. But, Hitch instinctively knew that, as irrational and unscientific as religion is, keeping it around adds something irreplacable and inexplicably valuable to who humanity is.

Long before humans created religion they created sophisticated societies with codes of conduct, morals, rules, laws, etc. For example, at the time of Jesus' birth, China had a population of 57.5 million people. How do we know this ... well, they conducted a census in the year 2 A.D. ... and they did not believe in God. India had 75 million people living in complex societies who believed in many different God entities. And the Pagans of Scandinavia believed their Gods created man and woman from branches of an Ash and Elm tree well before Genesis was ever written. The Religious cries that morals would not exist without Christian Religion is simply hogwash.

Yeah, no. These arguments are pretty terrible. The first 2 arguments misunderstand the theistic moral argument. The theistic argument doesn’t attempt to claim that you need theism in order to act morally, the theistic argument deals with moral ontology. It’s about the grounding of moral values. in fact, in the Christian belief, in the very first book of the Bible, you see that God says all human beings are endowed with the image of God in the ability to be moral. As for Neil deGrasse Tyson’s statement, that is all true and perfectly compatible with theism. It is a confusion of different levels of explanation. Theism or religion deals with the agency and science deals with the mechanism. God is the agency and the universe he created with all its laws and properties is the mechanism. Again not a Smack Down argument, and it entirely misses any kind of point. Though, in Neil deGrasse Tyson’s defense he really is a good hearted guy and I think he was saying it, not to confront religion, but to confront bad naïve ways of viewing science. As for Hitchens first argument, I honestly failed to see the point that he’s trying to make. He mentioned something about the origin of religion, though if that’s his point, it isn’t a valid argument because it commits the genetic fallacy. He also talks about how much more lovely naturalism is then religion but again that isn’t an argument for anything because the loveliness of something doesn’t mean that it’s true or not. The fifth argument, though I don’t know the person talking, is the first and only argument that is even worth considering. Though again, his conclusion that under theism you would expect the world to be perfect, is blatantly false. Therefore, his argument falls apart. Pick up the Bible, one of the most widespread theistic books of literature, and in the first few chapters you’ll start to realize that we should expect the world to be just as chaotic as we find it. As for Christopher Hitchens second statement, again, I have no idea what his point is. I am a Christian and according to the Christian Faith everything he says here is factually false. Maybe what he saying is true of certain other theistic beliefs. It does sound similar to some of the Muslim beliefs. And we end with another disappointing argument by Mr. Christopher Hitchens! Now I can finally finally understand his point, but it is simply incorrect. That is not what Christians have to believe. In fact it is not what any Christians believe!

    1. ATHEISTS (SCIENTIFIC PANTHEISTS) NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE. Amazing. There are still atheists (scientific pantheists) on this page that 'believe' (sic) humans are primates; i.e., the same people who: - when they send a chimpanzee to the zoo, will put the chimp in the cargo hold of the airplane (along with dangerous animals!) Instead of letting it ride with its 'nearest cousins' (sic) in the passenger compartment. - when the chimpazee in the zoo gets sick, they will call for a qualified veterinarian specialising in wildlife care, instead of calling for a general practitioner (doctor) the way they will do for the chimp's 'nearest cousins' when they get sick. - will often speak to chimps for hours, days, weeks, months and years on end trying in vain to make intelligent and meaningful contact with the brute beast, but, however, will not speak as much as 5 minutes to God (the Creator of the chimp in the first place). - cannot produce a single example of a transmutation, transmediary, transitional organism (an organism in the process of evolving into a different organism) as evidence for Evolution. - while others are pre-occupied with LIFE, are pre-occupied with DEATH, hence 'The Death-Cult of Darwinism'. - cannot even produce a single fossil of such a transmutation or transitional, transmediary organism as evidence for Evolution. - say such silly things as, "Nature rewards survivors with longevity!" (DSTV: NG Wild). In plain English: "Animals that survive will live for a very long time!" (They call this "science"?). - say there is no such thing as Absolute Truth ... except for the absolute truth of Atheism (scientific pantheism). - show the middlefinger to God, the Bible and the Ten Commandments but, when their car gets stolen at the mall, they scream blue murder and run to the nearest police station for an affadavit/sworn statement and a case number for the insurance guys because suddenly it dawned on them that surely stealing is wrong. - say such silly things as, "Humans are primates!" but will show up at a debate dressed up as if they are not primates, but human beings wearing clothes as God intended for them to do. Do the math: If they really were primates, why are they not walking around stark naked? Animals also have rights you know. Why are they rebelling against God but are still dressing up with clothes like obedient and subservient little human, not primate) minions suffering from a brain injury? - believe that all animals are in a state of evolutionary flux (are still 'evolving') but then they go ahead and classify animals biologically into fixed little boxes? - say that they do not believe in Intelligent Design but marvel about the intelligence of some animals while speaking about 'Natural Selection' all day long ... 'selection' an activity suggesting 'pre-programmed intelligence' of some kind. P.S. Darwin's distinction between 'Artificial' and 'Natural Selection' is disingenuous and anyway also artificial itself. The Bible teaches that God is the Author of Life, not Evolution. 2. IS EVOLUTION STUPID OR WHAT? Atheists (scientific pantheists) believe 'Evolution' created the world, making one wonder who created Evolution in the first place. Be that as it may, is Evolution stupid or what? Why would it create a world filled with people (2 billion+) who do not believe in Evolution, dismiss Evolution as a death-cult and prefer to follow God, the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ instead?

Yes, God created everything. God created viruses, bacterias and countless diseases that ail almost all living things. God will create many people, different looking in different continents, present Godself in different ways to these people. Finally, he will decide he created only one group of people that is his who are slaves and send a messiah to free them from another set of people God again created. Commandments will be given. Then after sometime another will be sent, crucified while totally another set of people become this crucified messiah's followers. Then another will come and call God in arabic and claim he is the last and no more and fighting will start. Then these people will go to other untouched continents, thanks to technology advancement, and talk about this God...some about crucified messiah and some about desert messiah. Rivers of blood n tears will run in God's chosen land instead of milk and honey. While this is happening, God will favor good fortune on shrewd business men who screwed with people, land and natural resources. But go to the right rabbi, priest or mullah, your ticket to heaven is guaranteed. God will sit back and watch all the drama unfold. Children dying, children n women raped, men also raped, then enslaved and what all horrors warped human mind can imagine, wait, God also created satan. Then God gives free reign to satan to whisper into his creations' mind all evil things and his creations will have free will. Also earth is centre of the universe. Or is it a flat disc? Man can do all he can in his little time, including inventing religions n God. He made smartphones for heaven's sake and made the majority mass slaves of corporates n eat shit food. Remember, yours is not the only religion to come to be. It won't be the last. Yet, when all is gone extinct, earth will still continue to revolve around sun as sun itself keep moving in the galaxy.

I was raised in a Catholic family, but I abandoned the faith because I believed that a "modern" person should not believe in such medieval nonsense, that we should all be free from religion because "morality" is enough for us. Then I saw what this kind of thinking did to people, good people started doing bad things, no, they didn't murder and rape, but they lied, left their loved ones, talked about people behind their backs and wished them bad, and they didn't feel bad about it. They said "other people do it, so I do too." After some time, I realized that they and I lacked love for God, I started praying, going to church, reading the Bible and listening to what priests said, and thanks to this I began to feel God, who has always been with me and will always be with me. I wish all atheists to feel God.

One of the problems with atheism is that it, understandably so, has so many misconceptions of spiritual, or better, non materialistic matters - since they don’t actually exist for the atheist. As an atheist, why would you waste time trying to deeply understand and earnestly research the other point of view - when a usually superficial understanding in the form of rhetorical device will suffice? These so-called bombs are at best straw-man fallacies

    • @alanfrye460
      @alanfrye460 11 днів тому

Yeah, I agree. The only argument that really was formulated as a proper argument was the idea that if theism is true, we would expect the world to be perfect. But this was just a logical deduction from his perspective because obviously in the first part of Genesis, you will realize that this world has had war. Most if not all theistic beliefs, have a similar description of our world.

There are very good Christian answers to all of these “truth bombs.” These speakers are generalizing all religions into one group. I bet they would object if believers generalized all atheists into one standard worldview. As a Catholic Christian, I acknowledge that you don’t need religion to act in a moral way most of the time. That would be your (or my) response to God working in us, whether we recognize God’s presence or not. When we act immorally (as we all do at times), that’s you and I using our God-given freewill badly to act in opposition to what God desires for us.

There’s many reasons why I could understand that someone would believe there’s more to life and the possibility of an afterlife. But to believe in religions and to follow them is trusting in other men, thousands of years ago and thinking they knew anymore about the miracle of life any more than you do. Modern times people do the same with science. It’s followed almost as a religion when science doesn’t have the answers to everything and people put faith into this authority when there’s much to question about what they’re telling you.

  • @phairygirl

1-Christians do not follow Christianity as a 'fire insurance' blanket. We don't follow God's precepts to keep out of hell. If that was true, then we are working our way to heaven. And scripture says we can't earn our way to heaven. Also, God cannot be dead. If God could die, then He isn't a God. If there was no God, then Christians are to be pitied. (A quote from the Bible) But there is. And non-believers are the ones to be pitied. 2- Christianity does teach morality. Not man's but Gods. And yes, some atheists are much nicer and moral than some 'Christians'. The West borough Baptist sect comes to mind. But such ppl are either deluded, ignorant, legalistic or narcists dressed up in religious clothing. Also, in reference to changing churches, Perhaps the church is running contrary to Biblical principles or the ppl leaving do not like the biblical principles because they cannot live as they wish. The Bible does say ppl will follow teachings that tickle their ears. Mormonism, I think, teaches that Jesus and Lucifer are spirit brothers. They are not. Lucifer was created. Jesus always was and is part of the trinity. I would leave that church not because I do not agree but because it's teaching is contrary to the Bible. 3- Mystical magical forces? The universal is knowable? Science is constantly changing it's mind as it discovers more. Understandable. But God is God and a lot of what humans believed was already known in the Bible. Such as the earth hangs in the heavens and is a sphere. I could go on popping their statements, but I have to get to work.

From Space highlights Icon for Atheism Now Atheism Now Follow Answered by Scott Chaddon Jan 11 Is there anyone who can actually prove that the God in the Bible doesn’t exist? If there is someone who Really believes there is no God then prove it to me please. The burden of proof is on the believers, not the atheists. But if you’re looking for proof then pay attention. Your God is, according to you, all knowing, all seeing, and all powerful and all good. He blesses his Followers, protects the innocent, and sees all people as his children. What that means is that every murder, r@pe, torture, physical, mental and emotional abuse, act of terrorism, sexual abuse, molestation, and every other vile act one person can visit on another was known about by God well in advance of its happening, was watched by God, and yet for all of his omnipotence, God did nothing. Thousands of times a day God stands by and does nothing. If God is all powerful and all good, then, if he existed, he would hsve stopped these crimes and Abominations before they ever happened. There is your proof that your God does not exist. If you insist that he does exist, then he is either evil beyond measure (no good God would stand by and let all of that happen) or he is completely impotent (unable to stop them from happening) neither of which fits the description of your God. So, YOUR God does not exist no matter which way you look at it. 11.3K views View 585 upvotes View 9 shares Submission accepted by J.S. Lange 1 of 1.1K answers

When I listen to these bombs dropped by these guys, I am completely convinced that they don't know what they are talking about, and they probably don't believe a word of what they are saying. Most of it sounds like the knowingly futile hopes, and inconsolable anger of a bunch of bitter, angry, psychologically hurt people who are in complete despair.

It's ironic as a person who has gone from non-believer to believer, that i still agree with much of what atheist say and dont find it incompatible my growing faith. If you're altruistic without expectation of reward, this is best of all! ♥️ Blessings

No, i am not convinced that every type of faith is plague. Maybe every "religious faith", but even that is questionable since there are many religions to choose from.

I was an atheist and heroin addict. I did a powerful dmt trip then eventually found jesus. I try to live the way he did it made me a much better version of myself. I treat everyone with respect my best friend is an atheist. Everyone can respect eachother no matter what their belief or political views are. Just like crazy religious zealots many atheists have an air of arrogance.

( `_ゝ´) This is the artistic proof that the universe was created. When you paint a shadow its the opposite color of the object that made the shadow. Nobody knew what the opposite color of white is so the artists avoided painting white on white. The opposite color of white is baby blue and baby pink. The first artist to figure it out was Norman Rockwell. I was the second artist to figure it out. I saw it in the corner of a white room. The lighting was perfect to see it.

This is a terrible reason to believe in a God. I will give you an exact amount of evidence against a god. Go to a local children's hospital

@@nickt463 what a snappy retort! With logic like that I can give you equal evidence of God existence. go to your local LDR, of else visit a wedding chapel, or a medical research facility. we live in a world torn between pain and on the one hand, joy on the other. Can you truly have one without the other and if you can, would we still exist in such a world? Would the ones we love? Would the ones God loves? In all seriousness, though your objection you bring is a very serious one, and we all must answer, given that we live in a world torn between pain and pleasure, what makes the most sense of the world we live in. Though I hate the pain and have been through some myself, I still believe theism makes the most sense of this world we find ourselves in

@alanfrye460 seems to me you just believe because you can't mentally survive without the belief. Everything you said just screams I need this belief regardless of whether it's true or not. To me, that's intellectually dishonest and a weak argument. If that same type of argument was accepted for anything else, I bet you would agree with me.

@nickt463 what motivates me is I don't like people wasting their lifespan on garbage. They crucified me with the exact same disease that in pink Floyd the wall. Their is a person named docky that has the scientific proof of God. Her name suggests a miracle possible for my health.
